Professional Nanny Issues

Glenda Propst has been a Professional Nanny for the past 23 years, working with her first employer for 8 years and her current for 14. 
Prior to this, Glenda was the Director of a Child Care Center for 9 years and is a graduate of the St. Louis, Child Day Care Association's Nanny Training Program.  She is also the Co-Founder and Co-President of the National Association of Nannies, a national, education focused support organization run by nannies for nannies. 
She was a founding member of the International Nanny Association and a recipient of INA's "Nanny of the Year" Award in 1991. Glenda has experience in many aspects of the nanny profession but her special interest is the nanny/employer relationship and communication and helping nannies transition when leaving a family.
Glenda is a happily married Missouri native.

 

Employer - Nanny Issues

 

Dr. Lindsay Heller "The Nanny Doctor" has been working with families and their nannies for more than a decade.  In addition to being a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Heller was a well-respected nanny for over 10 years in both the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas.  She has lived-in, lived-out, has been both the weekend nanny and the weekly nanny. She has traveled as a nanny both domestically and internationally. She has worked in single parents households as well as fully staffed high profile estates. She has nannied for families with infants, toddlers, elementary age, middle school age, and teens.

In the spirit of Attachment Theory, Dr. Lindsay Heller seeks to promote positive relationships between families and their nannies that create strong, healthy, secure emotional bonds between children and their caregivers that will nurture future meaningful relationships.

 

Anne Merchant After finishing her nurse training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Anne Merchant founded Primary Nursing, Inc. A Home Health Care Corporation, and Professional Nanny, Inc., a nanny placement & training service in Wellesley, MA.  She has written training curriculums which have been offered at the college level, including the first expanded Home Health/Child Development curriculum approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Division of Health Care Quality. For nannies who could not attend school full time, she developed the first Weekend Associate Degree Program for nannies in conjunction with Wheelock College in Boston, MA.

Anne is the Director of the Professional Nanny Online College & Training Program offering free tuition and college credits for nannies worldwide www.professionalnanny.com.  She is a past executive committee member of the International Nanny Association and also served as Treasurer for the INA for two years. She currently provides a monthly Advice Column to the national publication; Be the Best Nanny as well as to other parenting publications and websites.  She has been a guest speaker at colleges and on television and radio talk shows internationally.  Most important of all; she is the mother of two children.

Stephanie Breedlove, Nanny Tax and Payroll Expert

Stephanie Breedlove, Breedlove and Associates.   Stephanie along with her husband, Bill,  founded Breedlove & Associates in 1992. She holds an undergraduate and masters degrees in Finance and Accounting from the University of Texas. Her experience includes over 10 years with Big 5 accounting firms (Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young)Stephanie have also been a household employer for over 7 years.

Bob King is an attorney and founder of Legally Nanny®, a company that provides legal and tax advice to household employers and domestic employment agencies. Bob received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, studied at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, on a Rotary International Fellowship, and received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.

 

Bob founded Legally Nanny in 2003. Agency Issues:

 

Wendy Sachs is President and founder of The Philadelphia Nanny Network, Inc.  She is also a founding member and past four-term President of the International Nanny Association, an organization she has also served a Secretary and Treasurer and board member.  As industry spokesperson, she has appeared on national newscasts from NBC, CNBC and CNN, including the Today Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show.  Sachs earned her undergraduate degree from Simmons College and her MBA from the University of Miami. Her in-home child care industry expertise has evolved since 1985.  Her agency services families for full time permanent, both live-in and live out nannies as well as part time and temporary caregivers.  Recruiting nannies is done nationwide and referrals to are to families in CT, NY, NJ, PA and DE.

 

Immigration Issues

 

Gregory Siskind has experience handling all aspects of immigration and nationality law and has represented numerous clients throughout the world. Mr. Siskind provides consultations to corporations and individuals on immigration law issues and handles cases before the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Department of State, the Department of Labor and other government agencies. Gregory Siskind is also committed to community service. He regularly provides free legal services to indigent immigration clients and speaks at community forums to offer information on immigration issues.
