The
website concept started with
a discussion group called Parents With
Nannies. Parents, nannies and agency
owners who discuss via email the everyday
issues involved in employing a nanny. This group discusses many of the nanny issues you may be
wrestling with right now. With their help and a lot
of blood, sweat and tears, we have put together this
comprehensive website to help all the parents and nannies
out there who have questions and concerns about nanny
care.
Back when we
started Parents With Nannies,
it seemed
that all you heard on the news about nannies was negative. We all remember the Louise Woodward trial (she was an
au pair by the way). You may even still get negative comments from coworkers or relatives
who only know what they remember in the papers and see on TV.
Luckily, we now have some very positive nanny role models
that are getting a lot of television time these days and
the perception of the professional nanny is finally
starting to change for the better.
Please remember that negative news
sells.
Yes, there are bad nannies, just
like there are bad teachers, bad plumbers, bad bus drivers, and on and on. But
since Nannies are in charge or our most precious gifts, we must take every step possible to select the best
nanny for
our
children. Please take heart, your search may be tiring and sometimes discouraging,
but don't give up. There are wonderful nannies out there. You just have to
know where and how to look. Hopefully, this website will
give you a much better understanding of the process.
A Nanny/Employer relationship is very much
like a marriage. Choose your childcare partner well, nurture the relationship, and
it will enhance the lives of everyone in your family.

regards,
